Four seasons in Weltvogelpark
Weltvogelpark Walsrode also offers within its 24 ha of parkland one of the largest and most beautiful Botanical Gardens of Northern Germany.
The blossoming charm of hundreds of different tree, shrub and flower species can be admired throughout the year. Native plants as well as extremely rare exotic plants can be marvelled. 120 different species in Rhododendron valley, 70 species of Roses and a lot of Dahlia species give of an idea of the variety expecting you.
In Winter the park area is covered with a white blanket of snow flakes and the plants are hibernating. Only the frost tracery and icicles are sparkling in the sun und give the winterly park magical highlights.
Just on time for Spring millions of spring flowers will find their way through the protecting soil to get the first sunbeams and to transform the park into a colourful sea of blossoms.
From the beginning of May until the middle of June many Rhododendrons are blooming and give the park a fabolous diversity of flowers and colours.
In Summer, which gives us warm temperatures and many hours of sunshine, our roses are blooming with new power of life. Every day further buds are flourishing, showing their blossoms and make a unique sea of flowers out of the Hill of Roses around the great green area. In addition to the countless Roses many Fuchsias dress Weltvogelpark with a beautiful robe of flowers. Gentle breezes make the blossoms dancing and invite the visitors for dreaming.
The Summer is passing by and the new planted heather is showing a suggestion of Autumn which is coming. However this season has its own charm when the gleaming sun of autumn gives the park a warm and golden brightness.
Several butterflies and insects are flying and buzzing around the different flowers of autumn and try to get the last nectar.
